The Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water in Haskovo suspends the activity of TPP "Maritsa 3" AD in Dimitrovgrad due to violations of air quality standards.

Today, the inspectorate issued a coercive administrative measure to stop the combustion plant.

The plant has been closed since Monday, and the management intends to resume operations after the holidays.

However, this cannot happen after the premises from which the fuel is supplied were sealed yesterday.

This final measure is being applied for the first time and was reached after a series of violations.

Police entered TPP "Maritsa 3", Sandov with the first comment

"Several times the management was given the opportunity to change the way they work, to technically fix the installation so that they can meet the requirements set out in the complex permit. In this way there will be no systematic gassing of Dimitrovgrad with sulfur dioxide." , said in "The day begins Rosen Davchev from" Breathe, Dimitrovgrad ".

According to him, this is a belated decision.

Residents disagree with the plant's claims that there is a mass transfer.

The plant will not operate until all irregularities have been rectified.
