Although Karabakh first comes to mind as a symbol of the Nightingale, in many countries around the world the name is known by the horses of that land.

The Karabakh horse is a breed of ancient Azerbaijani horses.

In ancient times, when there was no information about the Arabian horse in the sources, Azerbaijani horses, including the Karabakh horse, were known, gained fame and spread in many Eastern countries, and were considered one of the most valuable horses.

The Karabakh horse, presented to Queen Elizabeth II of England, is also one of the Queen's favorite horse breeds.

President Ilham Aliyev also presented one of these horses to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reminding the world that Karabakh horses are the best breed in the world.

Today, for the first time, Karabakh thoroughbred horses were put up for auction at the Gobustan Livestock Demonstration Complex of Agroservice OJSC, owned by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The participants of the auction were offered 3 Karabakh horses - Sahil, Zilahar and Sultan.

They were set a symbolic auction price of 5, 7 and 30 thousand manat, respectively.

Of the horses, Sahil was first shown.

Its buyer, a farmer from the Tartar region, Habil Ibrahimov, spent more than 5,500 manat for this horse and was happy to own a Karabakh horse.

Zilahar horse, which was put up for sale for 7,000 manat at today's auction, was also sold.

This horse with a speed of 55-57 km / h was given to 7,500 manats by a horse lover Orkhan Gardashkhanov.

He said that his father had been interested in him for about 5 years and that he had come to the auction specifically for the Zilahar horse.

As for the most expensive horse, "Sultan",

"Today, for the first time in Azerbaijan, Karabakh horses were put up for auction.

Although 2 horses were sold at the auction, Sultan did not have a buyer.

It should be noted that its selling price was 30,000 manat

.

This horse will take part in horse races because it is not sold.

According to the spokesman for the Ministry of Agriculture Vugar Huseynov,

The purpose of the Gobustan Livestock Demonstration Complex, where the auction took place, is to ensure farmers' access to the breed by organizing the sale of pedigree animals as well as local breeds.

In the next 2-3 months, the construction of the Karabakh Equestrian Plant will begin in the village of Eyvazkhanli, Aghdam region.

Preparations are already underway for the construction.

After the plant starts operating, pedigree horses will be bred here.

Auctions for the sale of Karabakh horses will be held regularly in Azerbaijan, and in the future Dilboz horses will be put up for sale.
