During the next special operation carried out by the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two more people were detained for smuggling and distributing large quantities of drugs into the country.

The press service of the Interior Ministry told APA that 72 kilograms of drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as 1427 pills containing psychotropic substances were seized as a result of the operation.

Thus, the Main Department received operational information that Masalli residents Ramiz Ibadov and his acquaintance Javidan Alizadeh were among the main figures involved in drug trafficking in the country.

These people were immediately taken under operational control and their illegal actions were exposed by operational and technical measures.

They were detained as a result of an operation carried out by officers of the Main Department when they tried to hide a large amount of drugs smuggled into the country on the instructions of a drug dealer living abroad.

A total of 72 kilograms, including 50 kilograms of heroin, were seized from them during the inspection of residential addresses, as well as the trunk of the car driven by Ramiz Ibadov.

22 kilograms of methamphetamine and 1427 drugs were found.

It should be noted that some of the drugs were in liquid form.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.

Both men were arrested on drug charges and remanded in custody.

Operational and technical measures are being taken to identify the support of these members of the international drug network abroad and within the country.
