Russia Ukraine War: Food prices have risen wildly

World food prices have reached their "highest levels ever" after

Russia

's

invasion of Ukraine .

Wheat and grain exports have also been affected due to this war.

United Nations agency Food and Agricultural Organization

(FAO) has told

this.

The FAO's Food Price Index has risen 12.6% between February and March.

This is the biggest jump since its formation in the 1990s.

According to a Reuters report, the World Food Price, ie the prices of food items, set a new record in March.

The biggest increase was in the market of cereals and vegetable oil.

The Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) tracks most of the food commodities traded around the world.

The food price index averaged 159.3 points last month, compared to 141.4 points in February.

Earlier, the figure of 140.7 was kept for February, which was a record at that time.

After the war, a report said that if Western countries imposed sanctions on Russian oil, it would mean that crude oil would reach $ 300 for them, while the gas pipeline running between Russia and Germany would also be closed. .

And finally, the effect of rising prices of oil and other commodities will be visible in the form of inflation around the world.
