The Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Environment, Bedri Halimi, who was arrested in January this year in the "Brezovica" case, has been released from detention.

This is the decision of the Basic Court in Ferizaj.

His lawyer, Haxhi Millaku told KosovaPress that the detention measure has been replaced with a movement restriction measure.

He said that this measure is foreseen to be 60 days.

"Today he is at large, respectively in substitution of the measure from detention to the measure of restriction of liberty, in the sense that he does not approach certain jobs and places.

This measure will be continued for 60 days ", said Millaku for KosovaPress.

Halimiishte was arrested in January this year during an action which was part of the "Brezovica" case.

We recall that after the retrial, Bedri Halimi, as well as four inspectors of the Municipality of Prizren, EB, NM, BK and RD, were acquitted of charges of abuse of office.

The Basic Court in Prishtina on May 17, 2021 had acquitted the above four, on charges of abuse of office.

Following the appeal filed by the prosecution, the Court of Appeals on 25 January 2022 had returned the case for retrial due to essential procedural violations.
