The Specialized Chambers and the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor of Kosovo did not provide details regarding the visit of the Minister of Justice of Kosovo, in The Hague, Albulena Haxhiu.

The spokesperson of the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo, Angela Griep in a response to the Telegraph said that due to privacy they can not provide information about the requests of visitors.

"For privacy reasons, we can not provide information about specific visitor requirements or detailed visits," she said.

Otherwise, the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu will travel to The Hague today.

As announced by the MoJ, the purpose of the visit is to meet with former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, who have been detained for more than a year in Specialized Chambers.


Flamur Pireva, advisor to Minister Haxhiu, told the Telegraph on Monday that the delegation from Kosovo will meet with former Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniqi, former LVV WG chief Rexhep Selimi and former OVL and KLA leaders. Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj, as well as the former fighter Pjetër Shala.

Whereas, the visit of Minister Haxhiu with the former president Hashim Thaçi and the former leader of PDK has not been confirmed yet.

The indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi was confirmed on October 26, 2020.

According to the indictment, at least between March 1998 and September 1999, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, Jakup Krasniqi and other members of the joint criminal enterprise had the common goal of securing and exercising control over all of Kosovo through methods that included intimidation, ill-treatment, violence, and the illegal elimination of those considered adversaries.
