The heat has started showing its attitude in the capital of the country, Delhi.

Tuesday was the hottest day of the season and the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.2 degree Celsius.

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that the temperature will increase further in the coming days.

In many places of Delhi and NCR, the maximum temperature has even crossed the 40 degree mark.

The maximum temperature in Narela was 41.7 degrees, which is about 10 degrees above normal.

Palam observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 39.3 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature at Lodhi Road was 40.1 degrees, Ridge 40.2 degrees, Gurugram 40.8 degrees, Ayanagar 40.2 degrees, Najafgarh 40.6 degrees, Pithampura 41.4 and Sports Complex 41.5. Degree Recorded. 

The Meteorological Department has predicted a heat wave in some areas of Delhi in the next three days, during which the maximum temperature is expected to drop around 40 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, heatwave is declared in the plains in case the maximum temperature exceeds 40 degrees and is at least 4.5 degrees below normal.

Similarly, severe heatwave is declared in the event of 6.5 degrees above normal temperature.

The lack of rain is believed to be the main reason for this increased heat in Delhi.

According to the officials of the Meteorological Department, Delhi receives an average of 15.9 mm of rain in the month of March. 

Talking about last year, the maximum temperature recorded in the city on March 30 was 40.1 degrees, which was the highest temperature in March in 13 years.

The maximum temperature recorded in Delhi on Monday was 39.1 degrees Celsius, which was about seven degrees above normal.

The air quality in Delhi was recorded in the category of poor (274) on Tuesday.
