The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Northern Macedonia in charge of Good Governance Policies, Slavica Grkovska, met today with Suzana ucuc from the Directorate for the Western Balkans and Sabine Shtol from the EU Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Macedonia. As reported by the Press Service of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Grkovska informed the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, who were accompanied by Ambassador Anke Holstein, with the activities undertaken by her cabinet in the field of good governance. , public administration reforms, digitalization and the fight against corruption, and focused on co-operation in these areas with the Republic of Bulgaria.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, as announced in the press release, have expressed special interest in the Skopje-Sofia dialogue and expressed hope that the process established on new bases of cooperation and communication between the two countries will soon have visible results with the start of negotiations for our country with EU membership, which, as they stressed, is of great interest to Berlin.

Deputy Prime Minister Grkovska stressed at the meeting that the dialogue with the Bulgarian side is developing in a positive direction and that the war in Ukraine has shown that EU enlargement to the Western Balkans is in the strategic interest of Brussels and Europe.

Grkovska stressed that Veiru Macedonia has fully met the conditions for the start of negotiations with the EU and that the citizens of the country expect Brussels to fulfill its part of the obligation and that any further cancellation will encourage Euroscepticism.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Grkovska stressed that the Federal Republic of Germany is a proven partner of Northern Macedonia and the Western Balkans and that the continuation of the Berlin Process is expected with optimism, which brought great benefits in the Europeanization of the region.
