In its final moments, Flight Mu5735 can be seen coming straight towards the mountain at a very high speed before crashing.

Flight tracker FlightRadar24 showed that the plane dropped from 29,100 feet to 9,075 feet in just 2.15 minutes.

It was at 3,225 feet for the next 20 seconds, and after that the flight lost contact.

It usually takes about 30 minutes to come down from such a height during a normal flight.

When China Eastern flight MU5735 did not arrive in Guangzhou on time, local media began to report worrying about its crash.

The plane took off from Kunming at around 1:00 am local time.
