Master of Communication Arts

Faculty of Communication Arts

Chulalongkorn University

taught me more than 50 years ago that

“Mass communication is a mirror of society.” What era is society like?

prosperous or deteriorating is reflected in the media.

It is an indelible record of history.

As can be seen in today's Thai society, all media outlets place the highest importance on “watermelon news” rather than news of the economic crisis in the mouth of the people.

the struggle for political power of the few

to rule over the assets of 66 million Thai people in the country. This is the deterioration of Thai society today as reflected by the media.

last weekend

I have read the Facebook page of

Dr. Suwit Maesincee,

former Minister of Higher Education.

analyzed to

the future of Thailand

interestingly

Therefore, I would like to ask permission to share and read here.

“Thailand is facing

“Decade of Waste" (10 Years in Waste) or Thailand's Lost Decade reflected through 1. Low economic growth rate.

2. The ability to compete in decline

3. Coping with recurring crises all the time

4. The inequality gap is wider.

5. Conflicts that tend to intensify

what happened

This is because Thai society has a lack of good governance in the whole system (System of Governance), when society lacks a Clean & Clear Society (clean and transparent society), Free & Fair Society (free and fair society), therefore The lack of Clean & Clear and Free & Fair results in the Care & Share Society (a society of compassion and sharing) does not occur (note-Thai language in parentheses, I translated it myself)”

Dr. Suwit said that

he had conducted a survey of 40 senior executives in the public and private sectors asking, “What direction do you think Thailand will go in the next 5 years?

Between the Bleak Future and the Brighter Future, the results were as follows: 63% said the future was dark or rather murky, 23% said the future was no different from the status quo, only 9% said. I see that the future is quite bright.”

When asked further

“Do you agree that Thai society is a Clean & Clear Society?”

The votes were as follows: 92% disagree or somewhat disagree, only 3% strongly agree that Thai society is a Clean & Clear Society.

When asked further

“Do you agree that Thai society is a Free & Fair Society?”

The vote came out that 94% disagree or somewhat disagree, with only 5% agree that Thai society is a Free & Fair Society.

When asked further

“Do you agree that Thai society is a Care & Share Society?”

The voting results were as follows: 61% disagree or somewhat disagree, with only 15% agree that Thai society is a Care & Share Society.

Dr. Suwit stated,

“Under the dynamics of a world full of risks, crises and threats, the lack of Clean & Clear, Free & Fair and Care & Share in today's Thai society.

As a result, most people expected to face

Inevitably, at least the next 5 years from now on.

To change

"Dark future" to "bright future" must help each other.

Change Thai society to Clean & Clear, Free & Fair and Care & Share as quickly as possible.

We have to make a big change called The Second Great Reform after The First Great Reform that was accomplished in the reign of King Rama V.”

I agree with the proposal of The Second Great Reform of Dr. Suwit Maesincee.

I think it's time to

Thai people must dare to stand up and change.

Before the future of the 66 million Thai people became more murky than this, I dare not. Today there is no chance in the future.
