Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has released new figures on those killed, wounded and devastated by Russia's war in Ukraine.

Reznikov said in a video message that at least 400 civilians were killed and 800 wounded.

Among them are 38 killed and over 70 injured children.

"These data are definitely incomplete," he said.

For now, the numbers cannot be verified independently, BTA notes.

Reznikov said Russian airstrikes destroyed more than 200 Ukrainian schools, 34 hospitals and 1,500 residential buildings.

He said about 10,000 foreign students, including from India, China and the Gulf countries, were blocked by the fighting.

He also reported attacks on British and Swiss journalists.

According to him, Ukrainian forces have killed more than 11,000 Russian soldiers.

"Russian invaders are firing on humanitarian corridors where civilians are trying to escape," Reznikov said, without specifying where.

Russian officials have so far acknowledged the deaths of several hundred Russian soldiers.

The ceasefire in the Ukrainian city of Sumy is largely observed today, allowing the evacuation of civilians, including nearly 1,000 foreign students, along a humanitarian corridor, regional leader Dmitry Zhivitsky was quoted as saying by Reuters.

According to him, convoys of 20-30 private cars have left in stages.

Russian forces last night carried out air strikes on two oil bases in the Zhytomyr region of northern Ukraine, said regional leader Vitaly Bunechko.

He said Russian forces were bombing civilian infrastructure and homes in the area.
