In the past, there has been a war of words between the MVA government and Governor Koshyari on many issues.

Pune:

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Saturday that some people in high positions are making unnecessary remarks which the people of the state cannot accept.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Pawar made the statement at the MIT College campus in Pune where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari were present during the inauguration of various development projects.

This statement of his apparently focused on the governor.

Maharashtra's ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA-which has constituents Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress) and the opposition BJP also objected to Koshyari's recent remarks that Samarth Ramdas was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's guru.

Ahead of Modi's address on Sunday, Pawar said he wanted to bring to the notice of the Prime Minister one thing that some people in high positions are making unnecessary comments these days which Maharashtra and its people cannot accept.

Maharashtra: What is wrong if the CM advises the governor in the election of the speaker?

High Court's question to BJP MLA

The NCP leader said, 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his mother Rajmata Jijau established Swarajya.

Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Krantijyoti Savitri Phule (both social reformers of Maharashtra) laid the foundation of women's education.

We need to take forward their heritage without any grudge against anyone and without bringing politics in the middle of development work.

Koshyari had highlighted the role of Guru by giving examples of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chandragupta Maurya at a program in Aurangabad last Sunday.

He had said, 'Many Chakravartis (Emperors), Maharajas were born on this land, but if Chanakya was not there, who would have asked about Chandragupta?

Had Samarth (Ramdas) not been there, who would have asked about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj?

I am not questioning the qualifications of Chandragupta and Shivaji Maharaj.

Just like a mother plays an important role in shaping the future of the child, in the same way a guru has a big place in our society.
