The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, Olta Xhaçka has today refuted the official statements of Moscow that mercenaries from Albania are fighting in Ukraine.

In a post on social networks, Xhaçka clearly stated that there are no Albanian mercenaries in Ukraine.

"This is a lie that Moscow continues to repeat without shame!

Albania stands with Ukraine and will continue to work with all allies and partners to help end Russia's unprovoked aggression against the people of Ukraine.

"God bless them," the foreign minister added.

According to media reports, Russia has again tried to involve the Balkans in the war in Ukraine.

This time it was Russian President Vladimir Putin himself who claims that mercenaries from third countries participating in the conflict are increasing.
