"The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has led to a sharp rise in gas prices in Europe.

This is a positive thing for Azerbaijan.

Because we export our gas to European markets.

Although gas prices have risen in Europe, they are not yet forecast in Azerbaijan.

APA TV reports that this was stated by the head of the Public Relations Department of Azerigas Production Union Eldaniz Valiyev at the "Open Door" action held today.

The official also commented on the Ombudsman's proposal to replace the recently introduced mechanical meters for natural gas and drinking water consumption with smart meters: "We will have special devices in the new meters.

This means that our employees or citizens cannot interfere with those meters.

We understand the reason for the ombudsman's proposal.

However, after the new meters, I hope that the Ombudsman will be satisfied with our services. "

Eldaniz Valiyev noted that the process of gasification in the liberated territories has not yet begun.

However, after the decision is made, the construction of gas distribution lines to Shusha and Agdam will begin first.

The official also said that the construction of a gas pipeline to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic via the Zangazur corridor will be possible in the near future.
