The criminal investigation into the criminal case of Fovzi Tahirov, former director of the Agjabadi District Central Hospital, has ended.

APA reports that the verdict was read in the Lankaran Court of Grave Crimes, chaired by Judge Hammad Nuriyev.

According to the verdict, Fovzi Tahirov was convicted of repeated bribery and sentenced to 8 years in prison.

It should be noted that, according to official information, Fovzi Tahirov, acting chairman of the Medical Advisory Commission, will receive a total of 500-2000 manat per person in 2019-2020 in exchange for sending patients' documents to the relevant agencies to determine the degree of disability. There are reasonable suspicions that 24 people received 28,400 manat in bribes in the service room.

In addition, the investigation revealed reasonable suspicions that individuals who applied to him for employment in the medical institution headed by Fovzi Tahirov, repeatedly received 3,000 manat as a bribe in the service room in exchange for employment in the hospital.

On the basis of the evidence collected in the case, Fovzi Tahirova was charged under Article 311.3 of the Criminal Code.
