The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs in Albania, Olta Xhaçka, informed this Sunday afternoon about the decisions of the Albanian government, in the framework of the international alliance with Ukraine against the Russian occupation.

"Albania has joined the EU austerity measures against Russia.

We are drafting the legal basis for the implementation of these austerity measures.

These measures have an individual and economic character.

"We join the EU in freezing sanctions."

"From today, the airspace of Albania is closed to all Russian air operators.

Albania does not take part in any sports confrontation with the Russian Federation, until the end of the occupation.

"We are working to provide military and hospital material assistance to Ukraine," Xhacka said.

The Minister said in a statement to the media that Albania is playing a very important role.

"Albania is playing a primary role in dealing with the Ukraine file," Xhaçka said.

The measures will be implemented for 654 individuals and 52 entities.

Travel to the Albanian territory is prohibited for persons listed by the EU, diplomats and officials.

Economic sanctions: in finance, energy, transport and technology.

"We are working to provide military and hospital material assistance to Ukraine.

"Albania will continue to join every initiative of our allies and partners", announced Xhaçka.
