Azerbaijan State Agency of Motor Roads (AAYDA) has built, reconstructed and repaired 728.3 km of roads, avenues and streets in 2021.

APA-Economics reports that Saleh Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of AAYDA, said this at a press conference on the work done in 2021.

According to him, 606.8 km of them were implemented at the expense of investment funds, and 121.5 km at the expense of "Motor Roads" Target Budget.

In 2021, 10 new bridges (4 in Ismayilli region, 5 on Zafar Road, 1 in Agjabadi region), 3.6 km of Gala-Pirallahi highway in Baku, 76.7 m long and 9 Ziya Bunyadov Avenue in Baku. The construction of a new 90-meter-long overpass in front of the Vocational High School has been completed and put into operation.

S.Mammadov added that it was approved by the Order No. 2522 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 26, 2021, at the expense of funds allocated to the State Agency of Motor Roads from the state capital investment in the state budget for 2021, as well as from the President's reserve fund. The implementation of 12 projects with a total length of 207.4 km out of 17 inter-village highway projects has been completed at the expense of allocated funds, and work on 5 projects with a total length of 167 km with initial funding has been continued.

In addition, the State Agency carried out the reconstruction of 10 rural roads with a length of 61.7 km in Sheki, Yevlakh, Ujar, Zardab, Agjabadi districts.

In Yevlakh region - 7.6 km, in Sheki region - 11.4 km, in Ujar region - 6.9 km, in Zardab region - 25.6 km and in Agjabadi region - 10.2 km of rural roads were reconstructed.

Reconstruction and overhaul of 45.4 km of internal roads in Shamakhi region and 16.9 km in Naftalan city have been completed.

In addition, 123.1 km of Baku city and its 12 districts have been reconstructed and overhauled at the expense of investment funds, and 51.8 km at the expense of "Motor Roads" Target Budget. .
