Strong earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.6-5.7 on the Richter scale were registered this morning in New Zealand and the Philippines, world agencies reported, quoted by BTA.

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake shook the South Island of New Zealand near the town of Blenheim, the state seismological service Geonett was quoted as saying by Reuters.

The depth of the quake was 30 kilometers.

According to eyewitnesses, the earthquake was also felt in the capital Wellington.

There are no reports of injuries or damage.

A series of earthquakes with a magnitude between 3 and 5.7 shook the Philippine island of Mindanao on Monday, TASS reported, citing the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Philippines.

The strongest quake was southeast of the municipality of Jose Abad Santos in the province of Western Davao.

Its depth was 120 km.

This was followed by 10 aftershocks with a magnitude between 3 and 5.2.

According to the information, there is no danger of a tsunami, there is no data on any damage.
