Bulgarian pensions are still the lowest in the EU, but reforms need to be made to restructure and determine pensions according to the Bulgarian rug so as to restore social justice.

This was noted on BTV by BSP MP Rumen Gechev.

"The inflation target for the year is 5.6%, and the increase in pensions is higher - inflation should not" eat "pensions in the current situation.

It would be very cynical to say that by increasing scandalously low pensions, this is causing inflation.

It arises from an unreasonable increase in the money supply and a low level of production, "said Rumen Gechev.

According to him, the Bulgarian pension system is deeply unfair.

"On the one hand, the minimum pension is growing, which is scandalously low, but the average pension is not growing.

As a result, people with longer work experience, who have made larger contributions, receive almost the same pensions as people who are insured at the minimum, "said the BSP MP.

"This is extremely unfair, and that is why the BSP, as a coalition partner, wants a change in the way pensions are calculated," he said.

According to him, not only pensions should be increased, but also the structure of the increase should be changed so that social justice is gradually restored.

Rumen Gechev also pointed out that the restructuring of the budget could happen in connection with a possible international conflict.

"Each country, when preparing a budget, has certain reservations in connection with possible natural disasters and unforeseen circumstances.

We have a fiscal reserve of 9 billion, we have to maintain 4.5 billion.

This is one buffer, the other is the buffer are the reserves that the Ministry of Finance has, "Gechev said.

According to him, a possible conflict between Ukraine and Russia will have a severe economic impact on the whole of Europe and Bulgaria.

"Then we will have additional problems with exports and possible supplies of energy resources.

The consequences are really unpredictable, "he said.

"We cannot and should not react in the short term with military preparations," Gechev said.

According to us, neither our planes can become more, nor can we buy new submarines.

In military terms, we cannot change anything in the short term, he said.

According to him, the conflict is not so much between Russia and Ukraine as between the United States, Russia and China.

According to him, Bulgaria is not endangered because it is a member of NATO.

"The threat against Bulgaria is a threat against the whole bloc.

"No one has ever claimed that someone from somewhere is threatening NATO," he said.

NATO is threatening Russia as it approaches its borders, that is a fact, and Moscow is reacting, Rumen Gechev commented.
