The Chief of Staff of the President of Kosovo, Blerim Vela, reacted to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergei Lavrov, who said that militants from Albania, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina have been sent to Donbass, the province of Ukraine divided between the government of Kiev. and Moscow-backed separatists.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov's false accusation that Kosovo has provided mercenaries in the Donbass is part of a disinformation campaign seeking to justify military aggression against Ukraine.

"Kosovo stands with its allies and Ukraine in defense of freedom and democracy," Vela wrote.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavror has said that there are militants from Kosovo and other parts of the Balkans who are being recruited to disorient Russia.

"There are reports that militants from Kosovo, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina are being recruited to disorient Russia, which includes sending them to the Donbass [in eastern Ukraine].

"We are working to verify this now," Lavorv told RT today.
