The BJP government at the Center is preparing to change the name of Aurangabad Airport

Aurangabad:

The exercise of changing the names of airports, cities and historical places in the country is intensifying.

Now the Modi government

is preparing to change the names of

13 airports of the country (13 Airport Renames) .

Aurangabad city of Maharashtra is also included in this list.

A day before this, the Chief Minister of BJP-ruled Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma had said that the names of all the places in the state would be changed.

For this, suggestions will be sought from the public and a portal is also being made for suggestions. Union Minister Bhagwat Karad said on Thursday that

a proposal has been sent to the Central Government to rename 13 airports of the country including

Aurangabad Airport  .

Modi cabinet will take a decision on that.

In Aurangabad city of Maharashtra, Union Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad said that a proposal to rename the airport after Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji had already been sent to the Center. Karad said that it was a sudden decision.

I see this as a routine process.

At least 13 airports in India are to be renamed and the cabinet will decide on the new names of these airports.

After inaugurating an institute in Aurangabad from a digital platform, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had said that public representatives going to Delhi should look into the matter of renaming the airport and get it changed.

On the lines of BJP ruled states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, it has been decided to change the names of many places in Assam.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had said this a day earlier.

A portal will soon be launched in Assam for taking suggestions from citizens.

In this, suggestions will be sought to change the names of those places of Assam which do not reflect the culture and civilization of the state.


Earlier the names of many big stations and cities have been changed in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and many other BJP ruled states.

In this, the name of Habibganj railway station in Madhya Pradesh has been changed to Gond Rani Kamalapati station.

Earlier Patalpani Railway Station was renamed as Tantya Mama Railway Station.

In UP also the name of Allahabad has been changed to Prayagraj.

Faizabad Junction station has been renamed as Ayodhya Cantt.

The name of Faizabad district has also been changed to Ayodhya.

The demand for changing the names of many other cities like Agra has also been presented by BJP leaders.
