The British Minister of the Interior Priti Patel said today that she has suspended the possibility of issuing visas to persons who have invested at least 2 million British pounds in the country, BTA reports.

She described her decision as part of the fight against financial fraud and illegal financing.

Deputies decided: End of golden passports!

Recently, the British media reported that in response to Russia's aggressive behavior towards Ukraine, the government plans to abolish the so-called "golden visas", which have so far attracted wealthy Russian investors.

Patel wrote on Twitter today that the decision to cancel the visas in question is already in force.

"This is just the beginning of a renewed fight against financial fraud and illegal financing," she said.
