The Ukrainian president said on Wednesday that he had not seen any withdrawal of Russian troops, despite Russia saying the day before that it was withdrawing some troops from the Ukrainian border.

Volodymyr Zelensky told the

: “To be honest, we react to the reality we have and we do not see any attraction yet.

"We just heard about it."

He added that the withdrawal of Russian troops would be something that everyone could see, not just the military.

Zelensky visited today some of the Ukrainian military troops on the ground.

Russia's Defense Ministry on Tuesday released footage that appears to show the military arsenal leaving the Ukrainian border.

"But for now, they are just statements," said the head of the Ukrainian state, Telegrafi reports.

Russia on Tuesday did not specify how many troops it was withdrawing and other countries have been skeptical.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Wednesday that they had seen no evidence of a withdrawal of Russian troops - and that in fact it looked as if Russia was increasing its presence.

President Joe Biden said Tuesday that the US had not been able to verify Russia's claim that it was withdrawing some troops.

The US and UK had warned earlier this week that an invasion by Russia could happen within days.
