The price of gas in Europe fell in the course of today's auctions below $ 800 per 1,000 cubic meters for the first time since December 31, according to data from the London Stock Exchange ICE, quoted by TASS.

The tenders came amid talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the Kremlin, which gave encouraging signs that war in Ukraine could be avoided.

The price of March futures in the Dutch hub TTF fell to 798 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters, or 68 euros per megawatt hour.
