Turkey reported 107,530 new KOVID-19 cases per day, slightly below the previous day's record.

The daily death toll has been at its highest for months, the health ministry said last night, citing Reuters.

At the end of December, the number of new cases of KOVID-19 reported per day was about 20,000, but since then their number has increased significantly due to the highly contagious variant Omicron.

On Wednesday, Turkey registered a record 110,682 newly infected people per day.

Data from Thursday also show that 233 people died in a day because of KOVID-19.

This is the largest number since November 3.
