Kosovo Police announces that the situation in Kosovo has been calm despite warnings about holding a referendum in Serbia in Kosovo.

Referring to the information regarding the warnings that on January 16, 2022, a referendum on constitutional changes planned to be held in Serbia will be organized in the Republic of Kosovo (RKS), Kosovo Police as a law enforcement institution in coordination with the competent authorities, based on the legal acts and the resolution approved by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, has made its operational plans for the preservation of the Constitutional order of the RKS as well as the preservation of public order and tranquility in the country ", reports the Kosovo Police, reports Telegrafi.

Police say that there was an operational plan to maintain the constitutional order and that they would react professionally if the order was violated.

"In this scope, the Kosovo Police has drafted an operational order which provides for measures and actions of the Kosovo Police in order to preserve the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo and guarantee general security.

Also, all planning and operational actions are foreseen for security management and professional reaction in case of violation of civil security or the constitutional order in our country ”.

Police report that the situation has passed peacefully and without incidents, despite some rallies that have expressed dissatisfaction with not allowing the referendum to be held.

"The situation is estimated to have passed peacefully and without incidents, except for holding some rallies and marches in different locations / cities, in the quality of expressing dissatisfaction with the inadmissibility of holding a referendum in Kosovo."
