Mumbai:

All international travelers coming to Mumbai will have to undergo RT-PCR Kovid test.

This has been said in the new guidelines issued on Tuesday night.

More than 18,000 new cases of corono virus infection were registered in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours, which is 50 percent more than on Monday.

The cases registered in Mumbai on the previous day jumped by 34 percent.

10,086 new cases were registered in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The civic body said in an official statement that to check the spread of the virus, "increased surveillance of international travellers, contact tracing of COVID positive persons, 14-day follow-up and genome sequencing of positive samples" will be done.

International travelers found negative in the Kovid test will be allowed to leave, but they will have to stay in home quarantine for a week.

According to the new health bulletin of Maharashtra, more than four lakh people are in home quarantine across the state.

The new guidelines state that for those found positive, "institutional quarantine" will be arranged.

Those with COVID symptoms will be admitted to Bombay Hospital or Breach Candy Hospital and those without symptoms will be kept at BKC or Kanjurmarg Jumbo Facility.

Patients will also have the option of being quarantined at a "private facility".

They have to pay for it.
