Vigilance is being taken regarding Corona

Jammu:

Authorities have ordered closure of the university till further orders after 13 students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir were found infected with the corona virus.

An order issued by Reasi District Magistrate Charandeep Singh said that it has been decided to close the university to ensure the safety of students and general public.

The university is located at Kakriyal near Katra town, the base camp for pilgrims visiting Vaishno Devi temple.

It has been said in the order that on December 31, 2021 and January 1, the investigation related to Kovid-19 was done in the university.

During this, infection was confirmed in a total of 13 students.

Directing the immediate closure of the university till further orders, Singh said, "violation of the order will result in penal action under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and other relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act, 2005." Singh is also the chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority.


On Saturday, 169 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Jammu and Kashmir, taking the number of infected people to 3,41,459, while the death toll due to two more deaths due to infection increased to 4,530.
