Journalist Alfred Lela spoke after the incident that took place on the top of Munella in Puka.
The journalist has shown how the fall from the top of Munella Mountain happened and how one of their friends is still missing.
He confessed that as they touched the peak, a strong storm described the area making it more difficult for them to move.
In these conditions, the expedition team has decided to return, on the same route that performs the climb, in the hope that their tracks would still be embedded in the snow.
But unfortunately, the strong wind and frost had erased the tracks and coming down from the top, was incredibly difficult.
As they made the descent, the first to slip was journalist Lela, followed by other friends.
The journalist says that fortunately he was kept in a tree trunk, which helped him not to collide with a rock nearby.
"We grabbed the peak, there started a storm that blew on both sides and made it impossible for us to cross to the other side of the peak to sit in another direction. The smell was such that it took us back. We were forced to flee back. We were unlucky because the wind and cold had covered the trail making landing more difficult. In an attempt to sit down we slipped 3 of us, I first. With God’s help I stopped where I did not think I would stop anymore, I thought I was closed to this world. An object stopped me without going to the other side of the rock.
The key I believe has been broken, I hope it has been crushed.
One was badly injured, was escorted down.
While another is still missing, we do not know how low it is.
It took us about 1 hour to get off because the wind had hardened a lot from the cold.
This is the summary.
We are a group that has been doing expeditions for many years.
"We were a group of friends who would do the last climb of the year and meanwhile the cameraman and I were shooting and filming", said the journalist./bw/
