The number of coronavirus infections in Italy over the past day was 126,888, the highest since the start of the pandemic in the country.

APA reports that the Ministry of Health of the republic announced this.

Over 1.1 million tests have been conducted in the country over the past 24 hours.

During the day, 156 people died of coronavirus.

The total number of dead exceeded 137,000, and the number of infected rose to about 6 million.

More than 5 million people have recovered.

It should be noted that from January 10 next year, the Italian government will expand the use of "super-covid certificate" issued in the country on the basis of a vaccine or previous disease certificate.

This document will be required for travel, including local and regional public transport.

The certificate will also be required at hotels, festivals and fairs, swimming pools and health centers.

From February 1, 2022, the validity of the post-vaccination certificate issued in Italy has been reduced from nine to six months.
