Now that the first cases of Omicron have been confirmed in Kosovo and during the last two days there has been a large increase in cases of coronavirus, the same measures will remain in force in the future.

"The measures taken remain in force, while recognizing the fact that the epidemiological situation in Europe has deteriorated and based on the data of research on immunity created by vaccines, in order to strengthen this immunity in the population has shortened the time of giving of the booster dose ", it is said in the response of the Ministry of Health for RTV Dukagjini.

However, not all professionals agree with this decision.

Infectious disease specialist Hamdi Ramadani says there should be reinforcement of measures.

"I think that within three or four days the government institutions and the NIPHK should sit down and review the anti-COVID measures.

There should be more stringent measures also due to the arrival of people from other countries.

"But the work must also go online from the institutions that is possible", declared Ramadani.

During Thursday in Kosovo, 53 cases of coronavirus were recorded, while the day before there were 33 cases.

The previous days were accompanied by a calm epidemiological situation.

Of the nine imported cases Omicron, two have come from the US, two from London and one of Franca./
