Hundreds of people gathered in the cathedral church "St. Dimitar Solunski" in Vidin to celebrate the holy holiday - Christmas.

The Christmas Holy Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Daniel of Vidin and was celebrated in cooperation with priests from the diocese, BTA reported.

The Bishop of Vidin greeted all the laity on the occasion of the Nativity of Christ.

In his speech, he recalled the meaning of the holiday that the whole Christian world celebrates today.

His Eminence emphasized that if the gracious gifts of peace, love, joy of life are in our hearts and souls, then we have accepted Christ.

"The true faithful path in our lives is the path after Christ, which leads to true good, to the eternal kingdom of Christ."

Grandfather Daniel greeted those present at the service with "Merry Christmas! For many and blessed years to all!"

Many Vidin residents and guests lit a candle and prayed in front of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God for health and grace, peace and love.
