A second submarine-launched missile carrier from the Borey-A project will strengthen nuclear submarines in the Russian Pacific Fleet next year.

It is called "Generalissimo Suvorov".

This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Nikolai Evmenov at a ceremony to remove the submarine from the factory facilities, BTA reported, quoting TASS.

"This is our strategic argument. Nuclear submarines are defending our country

," the admiral said, noting that not so many submarines had been built in Russia since 1991.

Generalissimo Suvorov belongs to the fourth generation of nuclear submarines of the Borey-A project.

The leading submarine of the project - "Prince Vladimir" was built in the same Russian plant - "Sevmash" and handed over to the Navy in 2020, and on December 21 this year it was followed by "Prince Oleg", the first rocket carrier in series production of this class.

The state tests of the Russian nuclear submarine Belgorod, which carries nuclear drones, have begun and will be completed in 2022.
