Numerous police forces have surrounded the headquarters of the Democratic Party in Tirana.

As can be seen from the footage provided by the ABC journalist, only at the entrance of the Parliament building that is adjacent to the PD building, seven police vans occurred, while the large presence of officers is observed throughout the area around this building.

The presence of law enforcement forces around the PD building has increased during the last minutes as the Assembly convened by Berisha is expected to end, in which the dismissal of Lulzim Basha is being voted.

Despite the large number of law enforcement forces around, the situation at the PD headquarters seems quite calm.

Earlier, the delegates voted to dismiss the General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, as well as the three vice-presidents Jorida Tabaku, Grida Duma and Enkelejd Alibeaj.

It seems that the police are afraid of a meeting of delegates invited by Berisha in the PD building after the result for the dismissal of Basha, a wish which has been expressed by many of them.

During his speech today, Berisha made a description of the PD's journey from 1991 until today, returning to difficult periods such as 1997 or even later.

The former prime minister asked the Americans to withdraw the decision to declare him "non grata", otherwise he would be forced to continue the fight to return to power.
