A man who appeared armed in front of the UN headquarters in New York and who threatened to shoot himself in the neck with a pistol was detained and taken into custody, world agencies reported, quoted by BTA.
After several hours of negotiations, the man turned himself in to police in front of a fence at UN headquarters.
Due to the incident, access to the building was blocked for some time, but work inside continued.
