The Department of Serious Crimes, in the Basic Prosecution of Prishtina is treating the case of a 23-year-old from Drenas who died last night at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, and whose family members have stated that she died three days after being vaccinated against COVID-19.

The news for the Telegraph was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, Laureta Ulaj.

"The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, specifically the Serious Crimes Department, is handling this case," Ulaj told the Telegraph.

A 23-year-old girl in Drenas has died, but her family say the death occurred three days after she received her first dose of coronavirus vaccine.

The relatives of the 23-year-old, Zarife Imeri, have spread the news about her death on social networks, as they say that she lost her life 48 hours after she was vaccinated.

The Telegraph contacted the Family Medicine Center in Drenas to clarify information about why the girl from Drenas died three days after being vaccinated and whether she had any prior health information about the patient.

The director of the Main Family Medicine Center in Drenas, Ismet Bogiqi, confirmed for the Telegraph that the girl was vaccinated on September 13, in a regular procedure.

"The girl was vaccinated with a regular procedure, on September 13, she received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

"There were no problems during the vaccination, the forensic medicine will now deal with the case", he declared.

The Emergency Clinic of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, through a press release has provided clarifications about the death of a 23-year-old in Drenas.

The Emergency Clinic says that the patient was brought to the clinic, with loss of consciousness, with enlarged babies, without blood pressure, without peripheral pulse, with difficult breathing, where he later failed to survive, Telegrafi reports.

The Emergency Clinic of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, regarding the published news about the death of Mr. I (1998), from the village of Zabel in Drenas, explains that the patient comes to the Emergency Clinic at UCCK at 16:30, dated "September 15, 2021, by ambulance from the Emergency Medicine Center in Prishtina, due to loss of consciousness, with enlarged babies, without blood pressure, without peripheral pulse, with difficult breathing", it is said in the communiqué.

It is further clarified that “Immediately the doctors and health staff took resuscitation measures, the patient underwent laboratory tests, radiology and other medical consultations.

"Despite the maximum efforts of the staff of the Emergency Clinic, the patient did not manage to survive, the death was ascertained at 17:45", it is said in the reaction of UCCK.

The Emergency Clinic states that "The final diagnosis of death was intra-abdominal hemorrhage (bleeding in the abdomen), hemorrhagic shock."

According to the Emergency Clinic, the relatives refused the autopsy.
