A 23-year-old girl in Drenas has died, but her family say the death occurred three days after she received her first dose of coronavirus vaccine.

The relatives of the 23-year-old, Zarife Imeri, have spread the news about her death on social networks, as they say that she lost her life 48 hours after she was vaccinated.

The Telegraph contacted the Family Medicine Center in Drenas to clarify information about why the girl from Drenas died three days after being vaccinated and whether she had any prior health information about the patient.

The director of the Main Family Medicine Center in Drenas, Ismet Bogiqi, confirmed for the Telegraph that the girl was vaccinated on September 13, in a regular procedure.

"The girl was vaccinated with a regular procedure, on September 13, she received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

"There were no problems during the vaccination, the forensic medicine will now deal with the case", he declared.

Otherwise, in Kosovo there is still a large number of people infected with COVID-19, but at the same time the vaccination of citizens has continued without any serious complications presented by health and responsible institutions.

Since the beginning of vaccination in all cities of Kosovo, 1,089,615 doses of vaccine have been given, until today 385,297 citizens have been vaccinated with the second dose.

Two types of COVID-19 vaccine are being given in Kosovo, Pfizer and AstraZeneca.
