Relationship expert Luella Alderson suggested that Meghan chose to stay at home so that all the attention would be on the king and his son, rather than herself.

"It is not surprising that Meghan decided not to fly to Great Britain with Harry," said the expert in a comment to The Mirror. "If she did, the media would focus solely on her presence and not on more important things like King Charles' health and Harry's reunification with his family. Also, Meghan doesn't have the best relationship with by the royal family throughout her time with Harry, which seems to have only worsened since their departure from the UK and all their comments in the media, it's understandable that she might feel uncomfortable or not want to be in a situation where she has to will have to interact with them in difficult times," the expert adds.

Prince Harry is known to have had a brief meeting with the King at Clarence House. Due to the fact that the son took the initiative to come, the father had to wait for him and, they say, the king was dissatisfied with this situation. It was their first meeting since the coronation nine months ago. The conversation lasted 45 minutes, and in 24 hours, Prince Harry flew back home.
