The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health announced today (8th) that a total of four imported cases of dengue fever were recorded from December 12 to 1, and the confirmed cases had traveled to Cambodia, Malaysia and Thailand respectively during the incubation period. Two of the patients had participated in a study tour to Thailand between 7 and 11 November and were staying at a local village resort. According to the Department of Health, the number of dengue fever cases in some Asian regions is higher than that of the same period last year, and members of the public should be more vigilant when travelling abroad.

A spokesman for the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) said that in addition to the usual measures, insect repellents should be continued for 14 days if they return to Hong Kong from dengue-affected areas.
