Shekhar Kapur was born on 6 December 1945 in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. His father Kulbhushan Kapoor used to be a doctor during the British period. However, after independence, Shekhar Kapur's family shifted to Delhi. At that time, Shekhar's maternal uncle Dev Anand was a big superstar of Bollywood, so he also decided to go to Mumbai. Very few people know that Shekhar Kapur got a small role in the film Ishq Ishq Ishq, but the film flopped badly. After this, in 1975, Shekhar Kapur acted as a hero in the film Jaan Hazir Hai, although he could not do much in this film too, then he also worked as a hero in the film Toote Toys in 1998, but after that he left the film acting and tried his hand in direction.
