Timothée Chalamet Brings Out His Inner "Wonka" on "SNL" 1:32

(CNN Español) -- At 27 years old, New York actor Timothée Chalamet is already an established actor in Hollywood and not just a rising star.

Chalamet is currently promoting his new movie, "Wonka," in which he plays Willy Wonka and which will be a prequel to the famous chocolatier.

The young actor will co-star alongside one of cinema's greatest actors, Hugh Grant, who will play the role of Oompa-Loompa.

However, "Wonka," which premieres Dec. 15, isn't the only major project Chalamet has in the pipeline.

After being postponed due to the actors' strike, "Dune: Part Two" is finally released in 2024, which is the continuation of "Dune", a film that won six Oscars in 2022.

These are only his last two works, but Chalamet began to rise in film from his starring role in "Call Me By Your Name" (2017), in which, at the age of 21, he was nominated for best lead actor at the 2018 Oscars. This film also won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay at that edition.

Chalamet attended high school at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica.

In 2011, while still studying, she had minor roles on television and made her off-Broadway New York theater debut in the play "The Talls."
