Billie Eilish confirms relationship rumors 1:00
(CNN) -- Pop star Billie Eilish confirmed that she accidentally came out in a recent interview with Variety.
Speaking on the red carpet at a Variety event in Los Angeles on Saturday, the 21-year-old Grammy Award winner said she didn't want to make a big deal out of revealing her sexual preferences.
When asked by the red carpet interviewer if she intended to come out in the cover story, which was published in November, Eilish replied, "No, I don't. But I thought, 'Wasn't that obvious?'"

"I didn't realize that people didn't know. I don't really believe in that. I just say, 'Why can't we just exist?' I've been doing this for a long time and I just didn't talk about it. Whoops," he added.
"But I saw the article and thought, 'I guess I came out today.' It is ok. It's exciting for me because I guess people didn't know about it, but it's great for them to know," he said.
"I'm leaning towards girls," she added.

In the Variety article, Eilish spoke with journalist Katcy Stephan about how she relates to other women.
"I never felt like I could relate very well to girls," she said. "I love them so much. I love them as people. I'm drawn to them as people. I'm really drawn to them."
"I have deep connections with the women in my life, my friends in my life, my family," Eilish added. "I'm physically attracted to them. But I'm also very intimidated by them, their beauty and their presence."
Despite her previous comments, Eilish on Sunday criticized Variety for her red carpet interview in an Instagram post.
"Thank you Variety for my award and for showing me on a red carpet at 11 a.m. instead of talking about anything else that matters," she wrote. "I like boys and girls, leave me alone about it, please, literally, who cares."
