Taylor Swift postpones concert in Brazil due to extreme heat 0:57

(CNN) -- Taylor Swift has invited the family of Ana Clara Benavides Machado, a fan who died before an "Eras Tour" concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to her final performance in the country on Sunday, a source close to the singer confirmed to CNN.

An image has circulated on social media of Benavides Machado's family wearing T-shirts with the young woman's photo, while posing with Swift backstage. A video showing the family among those attending the concert in São Paulo, Brazil, on Sunday has also been released.

The source verified to CNN the authenticity of the photo and video.

Benavides Machado, 23, died just before a Swift concert in Rio on Nov. 17, as the region faced a record-breaking heatwave that also led to Swift postponing one of her shows in Brazil.

The singer lamented Benavides' death at the time.

"I can't believe I'm writing these words, but it is with a broken heart that I say we lost a fan tonight before my show," Swift said in a statement shared on her Instagram stories. "I can't even express how devastated I am by this. There's very little information I have other than the fact that she was incredibly beautiful and too young."

Benavides Machado allegedly fainted in the stadium and later died.

"I'm not going to be able to talk about this from the stage because I'm overwhelmed with grief when I try to talk about it," Swift said. "I want to say now that I am deeply sorry for this loss and that my broken heart goes out to his family and friends. This is the last thing I thought would happen when we decided to take this tour to Brazil."

Swift's "Eras Tour" will resume in Japan in February and continue through December 2024. In parallel, the concert film about the tour broke a box office record.
