President Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to be the guest of honour at the 36th anniversary of the Tanzania Women Journalists Association (TAMWA).
The event is scheduled for November 28 and 29 at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Center in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking on November 26, TAMWA Executive Director Dr Rose Reuben said that among other things at the event they will also launch a special Voice Siti magazine, which has been in print since 2017.
"We will also be launching a special report on sexual corruption and sexual violence within the media," Dr Rose said.
He also said they are looking forward to awarding a journalist who has made a special contribution to reproductive health and a special prize to recognize and appreciate the contributions of the 13 founders of TAMWA.
Dr Rose said the anniversary will reflect the 36-year journey of TAMWA, which continues to focus on promoting access to women's and girls' rights in the country.
"The vision of TAMWA is to have a peaceful and respectful Tanzanian society with gender equality," he said.
