Bulgarian musicians Hassan and Ibrahim Ignatov are in the top 10 of the international competition Étoiles du piano in Roubaix, France, the team of the project "Piano – musical pearls on piano by Hassan and Ibrahim Ignatov" announced.

More than 350 participants have applied for the fourth edition of the competition this year. Thirty young pianists were selected during public auditions at the Roubaix Conservatory, including Hassan and Ibrahim Ignatov. They have reached the second round, where only 10 performers remain, of which five finalists are determined.

The competition was established in 2017. Participants are aged 18 to 30 years, and they must be students at a conservatory or have a music school with a piano major. The aim of the competition is to promote young musical talents at the beginning of their careers.

Hassan and Ibrahim Ignatov are to perform in four cities in the country. The first will be in Yambol on November 30. Concerts followed in Shumen (December 1), Sliven (December 4) and Pleven (December 5).

Their project "Pivirtuoso" presents works by Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Maurice Ravel and Aram Khachaturian. With some of them, the two brothers have also performed at the international competition Étoiles du piano in Roubaix.
