Prince William and his future wife Kate Middleton dated before the wedding for eight years. And we still don't remember the period of their relationship when William rushed from one woman to another, and Catherine was in the sights of the paparazzi and tried very hard to behave like a wise woman. When the 29-year-old prince appreciated it, he took his mother's engagement ring, Princess Diana, with a large sapphire, put it in his backpack and set off for Kenya with friends and Kate. William proposed around October 20-21, 2010, it was during these days that the couple signed the visitors' book at the Rutundu Cabin Hotel, located at the foot of Mount Kenya. In an interview after the official announcement of the engagement, the prince said that he had been preparing for two weeks and was terribly worried. He was afraid of rejection and was afraid of losing the wedding ring he had been wearing in his backpack all this time. Katherine said afterwards that it was a real surprise and she was pleasantly shocked. And, of course, she agreed. The wedding took place six months later, in April 2011.

Six years later, Prince Wilm's younger brother, Prince Harry, also decided to get married. Before proposing to his girlfriend Meghan Markle, he dated her for about a year and a half. They even traveled together to Botswana, the country where the prince found two diamonds for an engagement ring that he planned to give Meghan. The couple officially got engaged on November 27, 2017. Later, in an interview, the couple told reporters how this confession took place. That day, Meghan and Harry were at home at Kensington Palace, preparing a romantic dinner and roasting chicken. When Prince Harry, as expected, got down on one knee and began to speak, the emotional Meghan was already screaming "yes" without even letting him finish. She literally snatched from his hands a ring with a beautiful diamond, the central stone of which was from Botswana, and the two stones on the sides were diamonds from Princess Diana's casket. A year after the wedding, which took place on May 19, 2018, Duchess Meghan of Sussex slightly modified the design of the ring, which Prince Harry worked on so much. Whether this hurt his feelings, history is silent.

An Italian businessman who is a member of the British elite proposed to Beatrice during their trip to Italy that same summer. Details have not been disclosed, but it is known that Princess Eugenie, Beatrice's younger sister, was also with them on this trip, who took the first few pictures in honor of their engagement. Later, these photographs were officially presented by the palace. The wedding was played in secret on July 17, 2020.

Princess Catherine's younger sister, Pippa Middleton, received a luxurious diamond ring while on holiday in the Lake District, in the North West of England. Her boyfriend James Matthews decided to do everything in the best English traditions: first, he asked for Pippa's hand in marriage from her father Michael Middleton, and then took consent from her herself. And he gave Pippi a five-carat diamond ring worth more than $260,<>. I wonder why James Matthews chose a diamond?

More recently, it became known that the younger brother of Kate and Pippa Middleton, 33-year-old James, is getting married. The guy, who had been struggling with depression for a long time and preferred to live away from high society, met the girl he fell in love with a year ago. It turned out to be the Frenchwoman Alize Thévenet. The guy also took his beloved to the Lake District, a place that is special for the couple: they went here after they met in the summer of 2018 at the private South Kensington Club. It's a very sweet story: his dog Ella walked up to Alize, and James followed her. A conversation ensued between the guy and the girl, which grew into friendly meetings, and soon into a romantic love story, which received its continuation in the form of a wedding, which was supposed to take place in the summer of 2020, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank

The engagement of another British princess Eugenie was also very romantic. She met her future husband, Jack Brooksbank, while on vacation at the elite ski resort of Verbier. There, the Princess of York spent the holidays with her family, and Jack relaxed with friends and worked part-time in one of the local restaurants. They say that Jack and Eugenia immediately liked each other, literally fell in love with each other at first sight. However, it took a full eight years before getting down on one knee (and Brooksbank did just that). One day after Christmas, the lovers went on vacation to Nicaragua. Jack had long thought about making an offer to his beloved, consulted with jewelers and thought over the design of the ring. But he did not take her with him on this trip, and all because he was not going to ask for his beloved's hand then. But somehow the stars aligned in such a way that one evening, when he and the princess were admiring the sunset, the young man suddenly got down on one knee and asked Eugenia to marry him. She agreed, and she could show off her engagement ring with a rare stone – a pink paparazhire, in a few months. The wedding took place on October 12, 2018 at Windsor Castle.
