One of the highlights of the "Hong Kong Night Show" series of activities is the Wan Chai "Waterfront Art Place" held from 27pm today (3 October) to 10 October, with about 2 stalls on the Wan Chai Waterfront, of which 90 are cooked food stalls and the cooked food stalls start at 44 pm.
At 3 noon this afternoon, most of the stalls are still being prepared, and some cooked food stalls claim to add more than 1,<> yuan to buy additional electricity, but there is still no electricity supply, which means that they participate in New Year's Eve, food festivals, etc. from time to time, and have never tried this situation, worrying that tens of thousands of goods will eventually "freeze water".
Mak Chung Wai, Chief Executive Officer of Victoria Harbour Marine Development Company Limited, who co-ordinated the event, explained that the power problem had been dealt with early in the morning, but there had been a misunderstanding with the neighbouring site, and the other party had accidentally cut off the power supply for the event, and the arrangements have been stepped up and are expected to be resolved today. He said that he had arranged for the iron horse to maintain order, and that the number of attendees was expected to be in the thousands.
Adjacent to MTR Convention and Exhibition Station, take Exit A2 and walk in the direction of Waterfront for about 5 minutes to find the entrance. There are about 90 stalls on site, of which 44 are cooked food stalls, which will only open at 6 pm, and there will be no open fire for cooking this time. The event opened at 3 p.m., although most were still in preparation, with no stalls officially in operation, and a large stage in the middle for performances. Firefighters patrolled the scene and reminded the assembly and document owners to comply with the relevant fire regulations.
Chen Zai (pseudonym), the owner of the cooked food stall, arrived at the scene this afternoon to prepare, he told reporters that the stall mainly does heating food, such as burning and selling fish eggs, and has paid more than 1,<> yuan to purchase electricity, but there is still no electricity, worried that there will be no in the next day or two, and the goods he invested tens of thousands of yuan may be "frozen". He said that he had participated in New Year's Eve, Brands and Products Fairs and Food Festivals, but "I have never tried it... It seems to be professional", also known as the narrow stall, there is no place to put goods, I hope that if the government wants to do a good job in the night market, it should learn more experience and prepare.
On the issue of electricity, Mak Chung Wai, Chief Executive Officer of Victoria Harbour Marine Development Company Limited, who co-organised the event, explained that the organiser had already dealt with the power issue and everything was ready, but there was a misunderstanding with the neighboring site, and the other party accidentally cut off the power supply to the event, so there is no electricity for the time being. He said that arrangements have been stepped up and are expected to be resolved within today, and some stalls with larger power may be slightly affected.
Mak also pointed out that since there was no sewage discharge facility on the site, it had been discussed with the contractor, and the other party said that a sewage truck could be sent to the site to treat the sewage, but because there was no place to park, the sewage truck would also produce a peculiar smell, so the contractor would send someone to treat the sewage bucket instead.
He also said that he was not worried about the flow of people, and that thousands of people were expected to enter, and iron horses had been set up at the entrances and exits to maintain order, and he also hoped that visitors would not need to queue up. He also said that he is not afraid of other night markets to grab customers, because the seaside art market has a variety of activities, including some artistic elements, drone performances and so on.
