King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrived yesterday on a three-day visit to France. The visit was originally scheduled for March 26-29, but had to be postponed due to mass strikes and protests in France.

Camilla, 76, looked gorgeous in a blue dress with a cape from Dior, a novelty in her wardrobe, wearing navy blue suede heels from Eliot Zed and Queen Elizabeth II's sapphire jewelry — a necklace with large stones, earrings, and bracelets, of which there were several at once. Camille had beautifully styled hair and makeup on her face.

King Charles also looked good in a black classic suit, white shirt and bow tie.

There were about 150 guests at the reception. The monarch raised a toast in which he recalled past visits to France by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and father, Prince Philip.

"My parents' first joint official visit to France was in 1948, shortly after the wedding," Charles said. "Then they made a real splash, dancing until the morning at the Chez Carrere restaurant on rue Pierre Charron to the serenade of Edith Piaf.I suspect it might have made a lasting impression on me, even six months before, as 'La Vie en Rose' is still one of my favorite songs!" said Charles.

Queen Elizabeth II visited the palace three times: as Princess Elizabeth with Prince Philip in 1948, in 1957 during her first state visit to France as monarch, and when the United Kingdom joined the European Union in 1972.

Recall that on the first day of her visit to France, Queen Camilla appeared in public in a pink wool crepe coat dress from Fiona Clare and a pink pill hat with a leaf pattern from Philip Treacy.
