The Development Bureau (SDB) retweeted a post on Tamar on Facebook this evening (6 June), criticising some organisations for making false allegations against the Information Services Department's online questionnaire survey on the artificial island of Kau Ye Chau, which clarified that the questionnaire was not to consult the public on the project, but the purpose of the questionnaire was to understand whether members of the public had relevant government information and the ways in which they wished to receive it, so as to provide reference for the next communication work. The group was urged to carefully verify the information and not to re-use misleading information out of context. In addition, the Development Bureau announced the launch of public engagement activities at San Tin Technopolis.

The Development Bureau and the Information Services Department did not name the groups involved, but the Local Research Society posted on Facebook on the 5th, criticizing the low-key public participation activities on the artificial island of Jiaobizhou at the end of last year, which was severely criticized by the public and scholars as "sneaky". Perhaps the government knows that it is out of touch with public opinion, and commissioned a certain unit to produce a Google Form questionnaire survey in the middle of last month, which seems to try to "make up the wok", but I believe that few citizens know about its existence, and the bigger problem is that the questionnaire has serious problems in terms of coverage, methodology and question setting.

In addition, the Development Bureau pointed out in a Facebook post that after an earlier briefing to the Panel on Development of the Legislative Council, the Land Use Proposal and Planning Features of San Tin Technopolis will be launched today (6 June) for a two-month public engagement event, during which roving exhibitions will be held at various venues and briefings will be held for relevant stakeholders.

The Bureau said it is committed to developing the northern metropolis into an international I&T city. Xintian Technopolis is located in the heart of the northern metropolis, adjacent to the I&T districts of Shenzhen Huanggang and Futian. It is strategically positioned to become a hub for I&T development clusters, creating synergies with Shenzhen I&T Park, helping Hong Kong develop a new industrial layout of "South Finance and North I&T", and building a new community of quality, health and green living.

The dedicated Public Engagement Website (http://nm-santintech.hk) was launched today to provide members of the public with details of various public engagement activities. The first travelling exhibition will be held at Hong Kong Science Park from tomorrow to 6 June, while the exhibition at the Central Exhibition City will be held from 11 to 6 June.
