Next week, Jill Biden will travel to Amman for the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein – the eldest son of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania.

The US president's wife has confirmed that she will attend the royal wedding of the year in Jordan next week as Crown Prince Hussein prepares to marry Saudi architect Rajwa Al Saif. The wedding ceremony is scheduled for June 1.

The Bidens have a strong friendship with King Abdullah and Queen Rania.

Crown Prince Hussein studied in the United States when he was a student at Georgetown University in Washington, and his father, King Abdullah, often met Joe Biden at breakfast when he was vice president between 2009 and 2017.

The wedding will also be attended by some European monarchs, including Belgium's King Philippe and his 21-year-old daughter Princess Elizabeth, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Prince Daniel and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway.
